Koster is a very small farming town approximately 63 km’s south west from Rustenburg in The North West Province. The towns closest neighbours are Derby and Swartruggens. At first glance, Koster seems to have little to attract tourists, but a stay here is not necessarily about just the town with a pretty little church and a golf course, it’s about the abundance of outdoor activities the area has to offer. The town is situated in bushveld countryside – it started as a village and grew into a beautiful town which still functions as a village, happy to remain in obscurity and to maintain its anonymity. Swartruggens is known however, for being an ideal stopover for travellers en-route to Botswana.   Swartruggens is probably best known for being a malaria-free zone with easy access to numerous game farms, including the popular Madikwa and Tulane Game Lodges, close to the city of Johannesburg. The area boasts over 400 species of birds and is also home to many wonderful hiking trails.…
