Dedicated to the protection of Owls in South Africa

The Owl Rescue Centre is situated at the Morubisi Game Lodge near Hartbeespoort in the North West Province of South Africa, about 45 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria and 1 hour from Sun City. The name "Morubisi" was chosen as it is the Setswana name for "Owl". All Owls that come to the Owl Rescue Centre are released once they are able to hunt again and survive in the wild. The Owl Rescue Centre is a registered Non Profit Organisation and rescues and releases between 200 to 250 Spotted Eagle Owls, 100 to 150 Barn Owls and other species each year.

The Owl Rescue Centre's vision is that through increased understanding of the owls nature, the fear and misgivings people often have of these birds will be replaced with tolerance and respect instead. The main reason for the Lodge is to host volunteers who would like to become more involved in the conservation of wildlife and owls in particular.

The Game Lodge has 8 Luxury Self-catering Chalets, 5 Safari Bush tents and a dormitory for Volunteers.
